Built by a physician who wanted to check up on his parents more often

I'm a practicing physician — and like a lot of adult children, I have aging parents I worry about. I wanted to check on them every day: make sure they were taking their medications, hear how Dad's back pain was doing, know whether they'd slept well and eaten. Not big dramatic things. The small daily signals that tell you how someone is really doing.

But between patients, charts, and call schedules, a daily phone call to my parents kept losing to my job. Some days I'd get home and realize I hadn't checked in — again. And the days I did call, I was often too rushed to ask the questions that mattered.

So I built the thing I needed: a warm, patient AI companion named Grace who calls my parents on a schedule I set, has a real conversation with them, and sends me a simple email summary afterward — how they're feeling, whether they took their medications, how they slept, how their pain is trending. A few minutes of reading, and I know how their day went.

One thing I want to be clear about: TeleSafeguard doesn't replace me calling my parents. I still call them — Grace could never take that place, and she's not supposed to. She's an added layer on top: more frequent touchpoints, more consistency, and a steady picture of how they're doing between my calls. If anything, knowing the day-to-day details has made my own calls with them richer.
